The 90s never ended for Spiderweb Software. Who wanted to move to third person morality-by-the-numbers when we could have stuck with isometric many-shades-of-bastard? Geneforge 5 knows which is best and ends up making one of the finest RPGs released in years.. A great ending to a great series. I loved it!The only thing I would change is the rebel settings. If you plan to play as a rebel, be prepared to cheat! Asides from that, it was a great game.. I like all the Geneforge games.. Great storyline, old school combat\/graphics style. Difficulty in torment is legit and with 5 main factions and a myriad of choices, lots of replay value.Gameplay is not simply just about slaughtering everything in your path - stealth and non-combat skills will be needed to clear the game. Monsters don't respawn which means that your experience is limited (in particular, your minions get xp when you get xp); but this is only an important factor (getting minions early means they can level up more by the end game and are thus stronger than 'fresher' ones) in the harder difficulties. Two minor complaints:1.) I can't move the screen easily (arrow keys only) since you're usually clicking with your mouse to move the party and its awkward to have the left hand on the arrow keys to move the screen around2.) A 'solo' style is virtually impossible on the harder difficulties (even with all your points in solo stuff like spells and stats rather than creations)Awesome game, and great bang for the buck!. Awesome game with a fair bit of challenges and stuff.Plus that it has good graphics and awesome creationsCreations:Fyora:Basic Creature with both melee and missle abilities, but not that much healthThahd:Creature with powerful melee attacks and very high health but a very high chance to get confused or charmed in battleArtila:Very low health and low melee damage, but very good acid damage.Suitable on large forces to defeat some weak bossesCryoa:Improved version of the Fyora shooting Ice Bolts.Still doesn't have a lot of healthPlated Artila:A much more powerful version of the Artila with much more health, but not good in melee, tooBattle Alpha:Much more powerful than the ThahdBattle Beta:Improved version of the Battle AlphaBattle Gamma:Improved version of the Battle Beta (I never got this one,I hope you get one of those :-) )Drayk:Much more powerful than the Fyora. It's perfect both with melee and missle damageCryodrayk:More powerful than the Drayk and shoots Ice Bolts.Still very devastatingWar Trall:Devastating both in Melee and ShootingShock Trall:Has the abilities of the War Trall, but I don't reccomend it,because after it dies it emits a huge explosion heavily damaging all nearby enemies and allies.Still if you want to take the risk when it is at the brink of death I reccomend to stay far away from it so it can explode and hit all the nearby enemies and kill most of them.Drakon:Probably the most powerful creature in Geneforge II,III,IV and V.Ur-Drakon:Extremely powerful version of the Drakon. It is devastating both with melee and missle damage.Use 5 of them to demolish a huge fortress!Roamer:Not very powerful, but has a very good acid attackPyroroamer:Very dangerous. When hit badly or absorbed it explodes like the Shock Trall and deals small damage to all nearby enemies and alliesWingbolt:Very good with Magic Missles, but not good in meleeUnstable Firebolt:Same properties as the Wingbolt,Shock Trall and Pyroroamer (explodes)Kyshaak:Very good Thunder Attacks and good in melee as wellUnstable Kyshaak:Explodes like the Shock Trall,Pyroroamer and Unstable FireboltRotgroth:Has a very good Melee Poison AttackRothizon:Same abilities as the Rotgroth, but more powerfulGood luck in playing this game,I'm sure you'll get huge experience playing itAleksProdzBG. This game and in general the entire series is highly intruiging because it has a great and quite fluid story. It has certian setbacks though, the general quality of graphics is noticably not great but the game makes up for this in the quality of the story. The general feeling of making gigantic monsters tofight other monsters and then you make even more monsters, just feels good in away. I would recomend this game hily for anyone who enjoys a good storyline rpg game.. Like a Single Player Dungeons and Dragons. In Geneforge 5, the progression is slow, and balanced, but in the end, you can achieve power equal to some faction leaders. In general, the story is great, and emersive. If you're not that skilled, I recommend playing on casual so you can experience the story without having to reload often. Also, experience with the previous games is not required at all, but after playing every game in order, it's cool seeing important characters grow and change. To conclude this review, I recommend this game to anyone who likes turn based Dungeons and Dragons style RPGs, and anyone who enjoys a good story.. Pretty ♥♥♥♥in dank game. Picked it up for 4 dollars when it was on sale. Best four dollars ever.
